The Fuels and Appliance Testing Laboratory (FATL) is a government-testing laboratory, under the Energy Utilization Management Bureau of the Department of Energy. FATL undertakes laboratory research and energy testing activities relevant to the energy efficiency improvement program of DOE. One component of FATL is a fuel testing section, which serves the laboratory testing requirements of both private, and government sectors for petroleum products specifically industrial fuel oil, a fuel used in firing boilers. FATL is presently involved in a special research project entitled “Study of the Effects of Fuel Additives on the Quality and Performance of Petroleum Products”. Under this project, FATL will be using an old pilot scale boiler, located at the vicinity of FATL, in evaluating claims of fuel additives (for boiler) suppliers with regards to energy savings and reduction in environmental emissions. Our project includes complete repair and conversion of the said boiler for operation. Supply & installation including modification to suite the bureau’s needs. |
